The Friday Five: Mixtape #2

The Friday Five - Mixtape 2

It’s time for our weekly roundup of what’s tickling the interweb’s eardrums this week – all tracks listed are available to listen to on the Hype Machine, click the title to visit the page where you can listen to the track. Enjoy!

Data – Rapture (Edwin Van Cleef Remix) | [click here to listen]

Edwin Van Cleef gives Data’s track a once-over here, and the result is a delicious slice of 80’s disco pop.

Bag Raiders – Shooting Stars | [click here to listen]

Recently released single from the Australian legends Bag Raiders, whatever you do, you must hang in there until the final chorus, it’s totally worth the wait.

Casiokids – Finn Bikkjen! | [click here to listen]

This Norwegian electro-pop troupe has quite a unique sound, I like the norwegian vocals. They even claim to base their sound on  Afrobeat – combine that with Casio keyboards and quirky vocals and you have yourself something pretty unique!

Lykke Li – I’m Good I’m Gone (Fred Falke Remix) | [click here to listen]

I know its not very original to be posting another Lykke Li track, but Fred Falke really adds a whole new dimension to this track, legend that he is.

Peter Bjorn and John – It Don’t Move Me (Miike Snow remix) | [click here to listen]

Synths, synths and more synths.. What more could you ask for?

Michael’s pick: Music of a Mellower Quality

Experimentally produced or hauntingly simple, music with an ambient, ethereal quality can take you places.  Top pics are Kate Havnevik, A Fine Frenzy, Natalie Walker, Imogen Heap, and School for Seven Bells.
