MSTRKRFT. Much more than a confusing name.

Nonstop dance party + electronic music = MSTRKRFT
MSTRKRFT is not for the weak of electronic heart. If you like electronic music, scratch that, LOVE electronic music, then your music tastes are like mine and you should read on. As you’ll soon come to know, I judge music based on it’s beats — and in my humble opinion no music compares to the beats of electronic music. I found out about MSTRKRFT from their Justice remix, went to their myspace and instantly fell in love with their great remixes and new material. When I saw they were coming to my area, I recruited my concert partner-in-crime Mike and went to their show last night.
The opening act, Felix Cartel, could have easily carried the show on his own. If you’re a fan of electronic I would definitely check him out. His music was a bit harder electronic than MSTRKRFT, but his fun personality and ability to start a huge dance party that carried straight through to MSTRKRFT (which did not end for hours) was one for the record books.
MSTRKRFT immediately followed Felix and their show had an amazing mix of beats, song remixes, light show (very important for electronic concerts — and is a big part of how I judge shows) and quite the hipster crowd. Has anyone else noticed every city has a different flavor of hipsters? It’s very funny to see how they differ from place to place. Back to the story, MSTRKRFT did a great job is keeping the crowd excited, dancing, and pumping up the level of excitement as the nonstop dance party continued. There was even a random body surfer — which is not typical of electronic shows and was a fun surprise. At the end of the show I was completely exhausted and on a natural high from the hours of dancing. I felt like I couldn’t move another muscle before collapsing from exhaustion, which is how I know I’ve been to a great show;. So if you’re in the mood for some great remixes, fun beats and a 2 hour nonstop dance party, take a listen to MSTRKRFT.
If you’re a fan of MSTRKRFT, have you noticed that 1/2 of the groups like uncannily similar to 1/2 of Justice? Just an observation…
And since I am sure you are wondering, MSTRKRFT stands for Master Kraft. Much easier to remember now, isn’t it!
